Perhaps cofty+Deputydog could even take their dispute to another topic, if some would prefer it to remain free of debate and focused on experiences?

The Quiet One
'I just hope it isn't going to become another atheist versus believer thread' -- I hope that it's clear that was not my intention, but I can't stop people from arguing.. I also hope it was clear that I wasn't calling believers fools, in fact I'm still feeling slightly guilty about what I said to Villagegirl. I look forward to when she returns to the thread, though preferably without silly generalizations about atheists.. Please keep the experiences coming, guys and gals :)

My Final Goodbye
by Lady Lee ini want to start by saying i will not participate in discussion here about my resignation as a moderator at jwn.. simon please consider this as my resignation from that position.. i have been posting on this board for almost 12 years.
i know some of you a lot, others a little and some not very well at all.
i have remained here for those of you who have needed support as you make the transition out of the wts, who needed someone to listen to your experiences of abuse at the hands of jehovah's witnesses, and to both laugh and cry with you as you progress out of the watchtower society.. we know that we have all experienced the cruelty of abuse of one kind or another.

If it makes any difference, you are the most fair-minded and reasonable moderator that I have come across on the 'net , and I can only hope that Simon and the rest can hold the fort without you.. Thank you for listening and replying to my queries, even when others would not. You will be missed.. (by the way, I only linked back to this thread on *AAWA in a nutshell* so that more people would see it, not sure if you/simon got the wrong idea. You missed the other one i posted on *Re: The Advocates for Awareness of Watchtower Abuses (AAWA) [WARNING]*, check my record if you want to delete that too. Sorry.. Won't do that again.)

In coftys defense.. Delusion can simply mean "a belief held in the face of evidence to the contrary, that is resistant to all reason"..Not necessarily involving mental illness. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/_/dict.aspx?rd=1&word=delusion

For those faking meeting attendance
by His Excellency infor those of you who are still faking meeting attendance and field service, do you still greet the dubs after the sessions?.
because for me, i am increasingly finding it difficult to showcase any fake smile and pretend everything is allright.
in fact, i'm already getting exhausted with the hypocrisy, i just have to remain in for family reasons.

"The Quiet One, l know Jesus denounced the Pharisees etc. but it was only after this baptism at an age of 30." ..... So? I don't get your point.. And didn't he question the Pharisees even when he was a boy?

I can't stop worrying that what I said may have offended some believers.. To be clear, I was only saying that Villagegirl was foolish in her comments, as Cofty highlighted, despite her qualifications.. Don't think I was saying that anyone who believes in a God, of whatever form, after being educated is a fool.. okay, Theists?

Trying to establish the demographic trends of congregations. Wanting counters please. Big brother needs you.
by joe134cd ini'm just curious?
since i have become aware that witnesses are getting older and that the youth is leaving (well in western lands anyway), i have started doing counts by age group of the people sitting in the hall.
generally in the hall that i attend i have found that 2/3 are 40 and over while 1/3 is 40 and under.

They accept it as evidence, how it's used is another matter. Look up Blindnomore's story..
